The Vimalakirti Sutra

An important East Asian Mahayana Buddhist text, the Vimalakirti Sutra was a favorite of Prince Shotoku, the semi-legendary founder of Japanese Buddhism.

This particular translation was originally published in the magazine "The Eastern Buddhist" from 1923 to 1928, and entered into the public domain under United States law as of 2024. This newly-edited edition includes new commentary from the editor.
